«International Gold Dagger»

La «CWA International Dagger» (antes
conocida como el Duncan Lawrie International Dagger) es un premio otorgado por la «Crime Writer´s Association» a la mejor novela negra del año, en su traducción inglesa. El autor ganador y el traductor son
galardonados con una daga ornamental en una ceremonia de periodicidad anual.
Hasta 2005, las novelas negras traducidas formaban parte del Gold Dagger. Desde 2006 las novelas negras
traducidas fueron honradas con su propio premio, concebido en parte para
reconocer la aportación del traductor a las obras internacionales. Hasta 2008 la «International Dagger»
fue nombrada por su patrocinador, el «Duncan Lawrie Private Bank». En tres de los primeros cuatro años resultó
galardonada la escritora francesa Fred Vargas y su traductor al inglés Siân Reynolds. En 2013, la Daga
fue compartida por primera vez por dos novelas: «Alex»
de Pierre Lemaitre y «The Ghost
Riders of Ordebec» de
Fred Vargas.
En 2014 la «CWA
International Dagger» se concedió se concedió a «The Siege», original de Arturo Pérez Reverte y traducida al inglés por Frank Wynne.
